Welcome to TripAdvisor lwchan.

Off the beaten path? Check out Shaoxing and Putuo Shan. The latter is one of the most holy Buddhist sites in China.

The bamboo forests of Anji - DaZhuHai and others.

thanks. The bamboo forest is actually a scene from Crouching tiger.

i found this blog http://annatam.com/anji-the-bamboo-forest/

The blog is 2 years old.

anyone can give me instructions to the Anji from Shanghai or Hangzhou city?

Lishui and Jingning, further south in Zhejiang.

Shaoxing isn%26#39;t off-the-beaten-path for me, but I suppose it is, for many first-timers to China.

Anji doesn%26#39;t have a train station, so you%26#39;ll have to get there by bus from Shanghai or Hangzhou.

Buses from Shanghai leave from Shanghai South long-distance bus station (0735, 67 RMB), Gongxing Lu long-distance bus station (0800 and 1300, 68 and 81 RMB respectively) and Hutai Lu long-distance bus station (0700 and 1340, 67 RMB). Journey time is about 4 hours.

Buses from Hangzhou leave from Hangzhou North long-distance bus station every 10-20 mins during 0620-1830. Fare is 27 RMB, I think journey time is about 1+ hour.
