hong kong to xian to beijing

We have 8 or 9 days after a full week in Hong Kong. I was thinking of flying to Xian and then on to Beijing. ( we are flying home from Beijing )..does this sound reasonable? Is this too much time to spend in only these two spots?

Thanks.

You can consider Guilin/Yangshou before Xian?

Make sure you get your visa first in Canada.

Fly from Shenzhen for cheaper flights.

Agree Gulin / Yangshuo might be nice, then 2-3 days there, a day or 2 in Xi%26#39;an then the rest in Beijing.

Yes, it seems a bit much time in these two spots.

you need one more city spot, such as Guilin or chengdu city, in Guilin city just for visiting Yangshuo,Lijiang River. or in Chengdu city for main spot and to be for visiting pandas area.

Two full days is enough for visiting main Xi%26#39;an spots.

Xian is a great city. Beijing is massive and polluted. flights are cheap. do what the tour companies do and you%26#39;ll be guaranteed a good time. check out Gecko%26#39;s Inland China. we just went and it was fen-om-in-al !!!!!!!!!!

Well... what are your sightseeing interests and preferences? You don%26#39;t necessarily need to go to the most popular names just because of the bandwagon effect!

All the suggestions above are good but do not forget about travel time. Over 9 days trying to do too much means you will be wasting a lot of time in airport, etc.

As mentionned above, take the ferry from HK directly to the Shenzen airport. As you will then fly domestic, you will save about 1000RMB. Go to Yangshuo (through Guilin). Have your hotel send a taxi to pick you up at the airport. The taxis in the line will charge you 400RMB more otherwise. Spend 2 full days there. On third day, fly to Xi%26#39;an but do not stay there too long. Maybe one full day. Then head to Beijing and visit the attractions unrushed.
