CityBus From Airport

Hi

Went onto the CityBus website:

citybus.com.hk/eng/GenInfo/Notes/notes.htm

It says passengers are not allowed to carry bagages larger than 5Kg. My son will be travelling from the aiport with a 20Kg suitcase.

Is getting the bus with a larger bag OK? Do they put larger ones in the under floor stowage?

Or is it better to just to get the train?

They will be travelling from Airport to TST and are on a budget.

Regards

Jim

On the airport buses big bags are not a problem. I%26#39;ve taken my bike boxed in one. A21 airport bus is the way to go.

That luggage does not apply to A-prefix airport buses, these double decker A21 buses are equipped with large luggage racks on the lower deck.

Many thanks. My son and his girlfriend have 3 nights in HK. Do you think it will be worth them getting an Octpus card. I think there is a 3 day Airport Tourist Octopus, but they will need a 4 day card.

As they are in TST I would have thought they will mainly be using the Star Ferry and once on the Peak tram.

Any advice welcome.

My bike still has calipers!

Just get a normal add value octopus card - not one of the limited ones. They will have to pay a HK$7 service charge when they get there deposit back, but still worth it.

It will definitely be worth it to get octopus cards if they%26#39;re staying for 3 or 4 days. Hong Kong is constantly on the move, and once they%26#39;re here, they%26#39;ll be taking MTRs, trams, buses, ferries... all of which accept the octopus. Besides, they can also pay for fast food and supermarket purchases with it. It%26#39;s a great time saver.
