Bus schedules needed! from Hohhot/datong & Datong/Beijing

Hi all,

I %26amp; my friends be visiting beijing, hohhot and datong for 10 days.

Due to time constraints, we be taking the nite train from beijing to hohhot, however, we are clueless whether to decide to take bus or train from hohhot/datong to datong/beijing to minimise any time waiting.

We can obtain train schedules from internet, but we need help for bus schedules.

Can any one provide info or links on bus schedule from

-hohhot to datong

-datong to beijing

Hohhot -- Datong: 0720, 0805, 0910, 1010, 1110, 1140, 1310, 1400, 1440, 1520, 1620, 1720, 1740. Fare is 40 RMB and journey time about 3.5-4 hours.

Datong -- Beijing (Zhaogongkou or Liuliqiao): 0800, 0900, 1000, 1100, 1400, 1500, 1600. Fare is 70-100 RMB and journey time about 4 hours.

What about Beijing-Datong train and bus schedule for the month of Sept 08? Do advise the travelling time and cost too?

Is it a shorter journey via bus or train? Which is the preferred mean of transport?

There%26#39;re many train departures for Beijing -- Datong but some will arrive or depart at strange hours so I%26#39;ll not list those. Those with an * in front depart from Beijing West train station, those with a # in front depart from Beijing North train station, the rest depart from Beijing main train station. Prices quoted are for hard seat.

Buses to Datong leave from Zhaogongkou and Liuliqiao long-distance bus stations. Departures from Zhaogongkou at 0830, 1400/1430, 1500 and 1600. Departures from Liuliqiao at 0710, 0740, 0820, 0900, 0940, 1020, 1100, 1200, 1320 and 1440. Price is generally 100 RMB and journey time generally 4 hours.

Personally I would prefer bus over train, for this route.
