purchasing train tickets on-line

Can anyone please let me know of websites where I may be able to purchase China train tickets?

Thanks!

Put ';China train tickets'; into Google and you%26#39;ll get a lot of results.

However generally these companies charge an arm and a leg for the service so I don%26#39;t bother recommending them.

There%26#39;s no official online ticketing for the Chinese railway system.

Thank you for your advice Ellyse. I just checked it out and yes, they DO charge a huge markup. I%26#39;m still debating on whether I should wait till I get to China to purchase the tickets. I get to China on March 22 and need train tickets from Beijing to Xian on March 24.

I would suggest that you get your hotel/guesthouse to help. Failing which, contact one of the many hostels.

frankly I won%26#39;t trust those online train ticket agents. People in China(like at hotels) always have the right connection to get you any ticket.

Thank you Thank you for all your help! I have decided to contact my hotel for their assistance.

or find some travel service center, aslo can offer you the tickets

Good luck

I also have the same concern, but I%26#39;m travelling from Beijing to Xian on May 2 with my family of 5. I heard that May 1 to 7 is peak season for train tickets. Any suggestions on what I should do?

and the suication can be better this May

China goveremnt cancel the the golden travel week for the first week of May

tha tmeans, we only have one day free ,then the rest day we have to work

there will be less Chinese tourists in this time

Good luck

Definitely buy in advance or I doubt you%26#39;ll be able to get sleeper tickets.

I am just trying to get the Z19 Beijing to Xi%26#39;an and my friend in Beijing said there are no tickets left in soft sleeper for April 26! what should I do?
