I have some guidebooks for Beijing with subway maps but I think some of them are out-of-date.
Have some lines opened recently (presumably ahead of the Olympics)? I will be in Beijing towards the end of May and I am trying to work out how best to get round the city.
Please can someone give me a quick rundown on how many lines there are open (so I can see if I have a recent enough map) or a link to a current online map.
Thanks for your help.

www.urbanrail.net/as/beij/beijing-map.gif has a more up-to-date map, but with less details. http://www.urbanrail.net/as/beij/beijing.htm has more information about the progress of Beijing%26#39;s metro system.
Hi, where2travel
For more information about beijing subway, you click my contribution and watch my videos.
You get a direct feeling of beijing metro.
I am happy you can take metro to help us to reduce the traffic jam problem and better air condition in beijing.

It is clean and modern.
Have a nice trip in Beijing.
Thank you very much for the links and information. They are very helpful.
I am more than happy to use to subway and want to see this as a good way to get around Beijing. I am much clearer now which lines will be open when I am in Beijing towards the end of May.
The subway looks easy to use although I%26#39;m sure there will be a bit of confusion at some point (as there inevitably is using any suway system for the first time!)
