The Travellers Lounge at Hong Kong International seems to be being pushed here a bit, I%26#39;ve read quite a lot about it, and have suggested that it might be an option for various people, and we were thinking about paying the money for a reasonably quiet place to rest before we return home. Has anyone used it? Is it any good? I notice it says you can enjoy all day food and beverages. I presume these are complementary, as alcohol is excluded. We used to be used to this sort of thing, when we were rich, before we had a family, but haven%26#39;t been in one for a while now. The idea of a fee-paying Lounge appeals.
Travellers Lounge
If you have a Diners Club credit/charge card, entrance is free. Food is free, so is alcohol. I don%26#39;t see how they charge for things once you get past the reception because everything is self-serve.

We tried to enter when we left Hong Kong on our Diners Card, but you can%26#39;t use the one in the main departures terminal, only the one in the other terminal which you have to get to by train. It is also only the cardholder who is free, extra guests are $130HKD each.
We gave up, we had done enough walking through the terminal.
In the eating area upstairs, there is free wi-fi so my daughter spent her time on that instead.
My husband is a frequent flyer, but can only take one guest into the qantas lounge and we had our daughter with us, very poor guest relations, 2 hour delay on our plane and they would not let her in, not even if we paid for her!

The Travelers Lounge and the Plaza Premium Lounge are operated by the same group. I am a Diners Club member, and it used to be that the card holder and one guest can walk into the Plaza Premium Lounge for free; now it%26#39;s only free for the card holder. Also, the food selection has gone progressively downhill: they used to offer Haagan Dazs ice cream, and has since changed to TCBY, then to Walls and some other cheaper brands. The hot dishes (all of two or three trays) are nothing worth writing home about. And the seating area is not spacious at all.
Now that the main terminal has installed free wifi access, I don%26#39;t see a point of paying to go into the lounge unless you want to shower. The terminal has plenty of seating and quiet corners, and if you%26#39;re looking for something to eat, the food court has a much bigger selection for reasonable prices.
I haven%26#39;t been to the Travelers Lounge (which is at gate 60 near the outer tip of the terminal), so I can%26#39;t say for sure if the facilities are similar to the Plaza Premium. But their website does not indicate complimentary access for any credit card or airline partners to the Travelers Lounge, so I assume everyone will have to pay to get in.
Hmmm. Thanks guys. Food for thought.
Diners Club website explicitly mentions admission to the 3 lounges in HK:Plaza Hair and Beauty Salon,Plaza Premium Lounge,The Travelers%26#39; Lounge
That may be so, but we were not able to enter the one in the main departures terminal on our diners. We were told we had to use the one in the other terminal. This was only in January.
