Is it a good time to travel to Shanghai this August?

I only have 1 week break during this summer holiday and would like to visit Shanghai. Just wondering whether the Olympics in Beijing will have any effect on Shanghai, like sky-rocket prices, crowd etc?

Is it a good time to travel to Shanghai this August?

In August Shanghai will be hot.sometimes up to 40degree celcius. No the Olympics games will not affect the prices in Shanghai at all.,n also the crowd will not be any different.

It will affect flights though, if you leave it too long it will be very difficult to get flights in and out (depending on which days you were looking at) as people going to the Olympics may tack on side trips to places like Shanghai before or after Beijing.

Thanks, I think I better re-schedule my trip, 40C is unbearable.

Hi May n June will still be good time to visit Shanghai weather bordering from cool to hot.,n yet not too hot.

There are some events in Shanghai - some of the soccer matches and maybe others? But I doubt if that will have an effect on crowds. Airfare is already way up.

Right men n woman soccer will play in Shanghai but i think only 12 matches,if im not mistaken. So there wont be much impact, definitely an increase in visitors n hotel rooms may be overbooked in certain places. But i dont think there will be any significant increase in prices, usually they will follow the prices during the peak period but not exorbitant. So also as the plane tickets r concerned as well. But it will be quite hot.
