Pandas

I am visiting China in September, sorry if this has been answered but I haven%26#39;t seen much about pandas, where is the best place to see the pandas? what is the Beijing Zoo like? I have heard of the sanctuary at Chengdu, how do you get there from Beijing?

Pandas

Tried a forum search yet?

Most popular ones would be the Chengdu Panda Reserve (http://www.panda.org.cn) and the one further out at Wolong.

Beijing zoo would be a bad idea. Other good spots would be Hong Kong%26#39;s Ocean Park, Shanghai%26#39;s Wild Animal Park and Panyu%26#39;s Xiangjiang Safari Park (outskirts of Guangzhou).

Pandas

Beijing Zoo have 6 pandas, most time they sleep,if you want just to see the Panda,Bejing is fine,if you want to see lots of Panda%26#39;s in wild,go to Chengdu

From Beijing have flights to Chengdu, then probably need to hire a local car

However I%26#39;ve heard that Beijing zoo is a rather dismal place for the animals.

On planning my trip to China last year l was told NOT to go to Beijing Zoo as l would only be angered and depressed!! So we went all the way to Chengdu to see the panda%26#39;s and it was worth it.

We did an overnight train to Xian and stayed a few days and then another overnight train to Chengdu and stayed 4 nights, we went to the Panda Conservation place? We got out there very early in the morning (7.30am) and the panda%26#39;s were being fed and we stayed for a long time, watching them. They are increadible and once again it was worth the trip. Of course you could fly! We did fly back to Beijing from Chengdu!
