Hotel recommendation for 2 adults and 2 kids (4 & 6.5)

We will be visiting HKG in coming August (hurray!!)for 4 nights - read through lots of hotel reviews noted that most of the rooms are small etc. Can anyone recommend hotel that suitable for families with young children in Kowloon/ Hong Kong Island? Also, would like some help in getting the itinery list done - so far I have two on the list: Disneyland and the double deck bus :-)

Kids at age yours will really love Disneyland. It%26#39;s quite small, doable easily in one day, and only one really scary ride. The rest are quite the date and suitable for young children, just one caution perhaps, the jungle boat ride has a fairly scary bit at the end it leased for little kids. Not helped by the script the ';captain'; of the boat has to go through.

They would probably like Ocean Park too, just one scary bit in that a huge spider drops down from the ceiling to just above your head, don%26#39;t remember where that is but you could always ask I%26#39;m sure someone will tell you.

They might also like Madam Tussauds (spelling?)depending on how keen they are on film stars etc. You can have your photograph taken with ';Jackie Chan'; for what seems to me to be a large sum. There is also a Snoopy World and Teddybear world, which I haven%26#39;t been to but others tell me good for little kids. They might go down with littlies better than Ocean Park in actual fact although the dolphins are quite good.

Other people know much more about room sizes than I do, many hotels actually have the size of the room on their Web site, or you can do Google search, (Hotel name -- room size) which will probably lead you back to the hotel website anyway but sometimes not. Carefully check the hotel policy on the number of children allowed to stay in the room. Confirm with the hotel that you need extra bedding also, though in our experience it will not be ready when you arrive.

My husband, myself and our 2 children aged 8 and 5 stayed for 2 weeks in Hong Kong last september. It was brilliant. The kids loved it. We stayed at the Sheraton and stayed in a deluxe Harbour view room. The hotel, room, view, and staff were excellent. I can%26#39;t recommend it enough. The laser show each night is great.

As for things to do - Ocean Park, Disneyland, Sceince Museum, Art Museum, Botanical Gardens, The Peak, Stanley, Repulse Bay, Giant Buddha, Star Ferry - to name a few!!!!! we also took the Jetfoil to China (can%26#39;t remember the name of the actual place but its only 1 hr away!!) and my husband and the kids did a skywalk there.

We used public transport the whole time and found it safe and cheap - it all added to the adventure.

Food - anything you want at any time and any price.

You%26#39;ll love it.

Thanks a lot, will try to google for hotel room size. Reading your %26#39;places visited%26#39;, felt like can%26#39;t wait till this summer. It also alert me to do a list of %26#39;things to eat%26#39;....

My wife and I stayed at the Intercontinental Grand Stamford in Kawloon, good location, excellent hotel, get a club room if budget allows and I think the kids will love the roof top pool

My daughter and I stayed at the BP International Hotel in Kowloon. Great position, close to everything. Very clean, staff friendly, couldn%26#39;t fault this hotel and very reasonably priced.
