AP1 from airport to Metropak Grandeur Hotel

Hi

wonder if anyone can tell me whether the AP1 bus from the airport stops at Metropak Grandeur Hotel or within walking distance to the hotel.

In addition, does the shops at the Zhuhai underground mall accept HK$?

Thanks!

Only answering for the Zhuhai Underground - some might accept $HK, but not for the same price as it is now worth considerably less. It used to be to their advantage - now clearly it is not!

Hi, yes, the API has a stop near to your hotel.

You have a better bargaining using the RMB at Gongbei underground mall.

Unless they changed the routes again (lots of roadworks in Macau!), the closest stop to the Metropark should be the third stop after the bus comes off the bridge from Taipa. You should be able to get updated information at the airport.

Thanks for the info.! I just changed some HK$. I wonder if it is advisable to change some HK$ to RMB at Macau (how favourable are the rates there?) for Zhuhai trip or just use the HK$ there.

Exchange rates in Macau are officially controlled; the same at money changers and banks.

Right now RMB is much stronger than HK$, so even in markets stallholders no longer accept 1:1.

Do you realise that ALL visa on arrival services have been suspended for mainland China? I%26#39;m not clear if Singaporeans have been travelling ';15 days visa free'; or ';15 days voa';, but if the latter it will be a major hassle organising a visa in Macau, although it is possible.

Thanks Oissan.

We have been travelling 15 days visa free to China so

I dont think I will have any problems there. Now you got me worried about the stallholders not accepting 1:1 in Macau. I really hope I wont have problems using HK$ in public buses and eateries/ restaurants in Macau.

BTW, what is there at Zhuhai underground mall that will interest us ladies there? Are the goods sold there somewhat like in Bangkok%26#39;s Mah Boon Kong?

I will be flying to Macau on Sunday. Hope to hear from you soon.

Oissan, I just realised that you were referring to Zhuhai not accepting 1:1 now. How about Macau?

Also, how is the weather in Macau now? I read from the news that the temperature is between 20C to 25C so I guess I can walk around in T-shirts? Also, can I wear casual clothings (T-shirts, jeans, sandals) into casinos at the Venetian and Wynn?

Thanks for your help!

HK$ / MOP are accepted 1:1 everywhere in Macau except government offices (e.g. post offices, some museums), which only accept MOP.

There are some shops in Macau which have signs saying that they accept RMB:MOP:HK$ 1:1:1, which these days is a rip-off.

No problem at all using HK$ on Macau buses, but if you%26#39;re going to be there a few days and planning to use a lot of public transport you might want to get a MacauPass so you don%26#39;t have to carry around heaps of small change.

I%26#39;m not a gambler, but suspect the casinos are much more interested in your money than in what you wear.

Out of doors T-shirts and sandals should be fine, but many buildings have quite vicious air conditioning, so you will want a long-sleeved overshirt or light jacket to wear indoors.

Young Asian sized ladies who like clothes shopping are in seventh heaven in the Gongbei shopping mall; there are also lots of shoe shops, other accessories, DVDs %26amp; CDs (strong emphasis on Chinese of course), a big Chinese book shop, some reputable massage parlours and many small beauty parlours.

Oisaan

thanks so much for your advice!
