Airport to TST and TST to Big Budha

Hi

Two students are on a budget. What is the best way to get from the airport to TST.

Also what is the best way of getting from TST to the Big Budha Temple?

Many thanks

Jim

Airport to TST and TST to Big Budha

Cheapest way to TST from the airport is the A21 Cityflyer bus which costs HK$33 and runs every 10/20 mins. It should take about 50/60 mins depending on time of day and which part of TST you%26#39;re going to.

There are various ways to get to the Buddha. You can take the MTR from Tsim Sha Tsui Station to Tung Chung (changing at Lai King) then either Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car (25/30 mins plus any queuing time) or New Lantao Bus Co service 23 (cheaper option but takes about 50 mins);

Alternatively take the Star Ferry across the harbour and then ferry from Central Pier 6 (next to Star Ferry Pier) to Mui Wo on Lantau (50 mins). From the bus terminus at the Mui Wo ferry pier take bus number 2 to Ngong Ping;

This route (if you take the slow ferry as opposed to the catamaran fast ferry) offers a leisurely scenic cruise through the harbour and past outlying islands and then a scenic bus ride along Lantau%26#39;s south coast.

On Sundays and public holidays only there is a direct bus service 1R to the Buddha from TST which you can board either on Salisbury Road outside the New World Centre or at the mosque next to TST MTR Station. You have to come back via a different route however as there is no direct return journey;
