PoLinMonastery and Big Buddha

We went to the PoLin Monastery Tuesday, 4/9/08 and we overtaken by the majesty of both the Monastery and Big Buddha. Certainly, a must see for anybody visiting Hong Kong.

One question, I%26#39;ve not been able to determine the height of both the Monastery and Big Buddha and how height they are. The guide said they are about 800 to 1000 feet, but that seems very light to me.

Any thoughts would be appreciated or any questions about how to get to the Monastery.

You can either take the cable car from Tung Chung or take the bus from Mui Woo. Both has its interesting points as the cable car can give you a bird eyes view of Lantau. However the bus trip from Mui Woo is quite scenic.
