Changes to Visa

I hear that countries that once could get visa on arrival at Shenzhen can no longer. Is this true? We were planning to go to Shenzhen next Tuesday and get VOA. WE are Australians. If we cannot get VOA, we will need to get a visa in HK but this may mean travelling to Shenzhen on the weekend which we had planned to avoid. Will it be quieter in Shenzhen if HK locals also need to apply in advance and therefore the weekend won%26#39;t be so busy?

Changes to Visa

Those with HKSAR ID don%26#39;t need to apply for visas to visit mainland China.

Changes to Visa

Ellyse- If they don%26#39;t have a %26#39;home return permit%26#39;, and they are entering China on a foreign passport most nationalities need a visa even if they have a HKID.

LiemPerth - yes VOAs are suspended, so you will need to get a visa - around HK$4-500 for a single entry.

Shenzhen won%26#39;t be quiet - besides there being less tourists!

Sorry about that, it%26#39;s late and my brain%26#39;s fried. Thanks for clearing that up.

THanks for the info. I tried to get the prices by searching but could not find prices for the visas. It seems we will not be going to Shenzhen. A day trip for two adults and two kids seems out of our budget now. A big jump from $150 a visa for Australians.
