Hotel Location -- Hong Kong Island vs. Kowloon

I have a reservation at The Peninsula, which is located in Kowloon. From what I read, it just doesn%26#39;t get any better than The Peninsula in terms of luxury, beauty, service and history. However, it seems like there is so much to do on Hong Kong Island. Should I be looking for a hotel on the Island instead of Kowloon?

Hong Kong Island is just a short ride across the harbour by ferry or subway. Takes you maybe 10 minutes so there%26#39;s no need to worry.

there are also lots to see and shop (and eat) in tsim sha tsui where peninsula is located.

Have a read on these hotel reviews -

Yes, it is very easy to get over to HK Island from the P. I prefer Kowloon myself - - that is where the great harbor views are and I like some nook and crannies in the Kowloon area (despite hating some of the crowded toruistiness and being assaulted by tailors). :P I can spend hours just relaxing and looking out at the harbor. :)

Stay where you have booked. The hotel is in a wonderful location, and you are a two minute walk to the Star Ferry terminal

Definatley stay at The Peninsula we stayed there in September last year, the whole experience of the hotel is fantastic for all the reasons you have stated.

We go to HK quite often and had always stayed on Kowloon side, everyone said that we should stay on HK island so we did in January, we stayed in Causeway Bay, we still had a fantastic time but I still prefer Kowloon.

We are going again in 6 weeks time and you guessed it we are staying in Kowloon (the budget wouldn%26#39;t stretch to the Peninsula this time mores the pity).

Travel around HK is so easy it doesn%26#39;t really matter where you stay.

Have a fantastic time and enjoy The Pen.
