can u use Octopus card for.....

No, cannot use the HK octopus card on Macau buses.

The fares in Macau are easy though - MOP2.50 within main part, MOP3.30 from main part to Taipa or MOP5 from main part to Coloane.

Macau in KFC only!

Peak tram also a yes.

Ngong Ping - you have to buy a ticket.

Macau finally has its own i/c transport card, MacauPass, but unless you%26#39;re planning to stay for a few days it probably wouldn%26#39;t be worth it. Otherwise stick to using up all your small change, whether HK$ or MOP, on Macau%26#39;s buses.

Hi Ang, Octopus card can be used for the Peak Tram, just go to the scanner,on your left, with you facing the ticket counter,if you are arriving by bus #15c.

As for Ngong Ping cable car, you cannot use the Octopus card, you need to buy separate ticket. If you plan to visit Tai-O village from Ngong Ping, you can use the Octopus card for the New LAntao Bus.

Octopus card in Macau,at this moment of time is only limited to KFC outlet,as for the buses in Macau, they operate on a fixed fare,i.e. MOP2.50 within travel in Macau Peninsula,if going to Taipa,it is MOP3.30. HKD coins are acceptable in the coin machine, though you pay just a fraction higher.

Thanks all. Very helpful as always.

Unsure if we are going to take the cable car up to the Buddha anyways as it opens a bit late. I think we may head up on the bus from the mtr station to be there when the attractions open before the hustle and bustle. If all goes well may take cable car back down instead.

Cheers

Ang

Hi guys, just want to ask: If one has an octopus card, does one still have to fall in line for the tram ticket?Or can we just wave the card and head on to the tram?

If one has an Octopus card, you need not fall in line at the ticket counter, just scan your Octopus card at the reader, then proceed to queue with the rest for the tram.

If using the tram to ascend to the peak, if possible, try to sit on your right,as the skyscrapers are on your right, and when you reached the gradient, one get an optical illusion that the skyscrapers are inclined at an angle.

If i use the octopus card for the peak tram, will it be the $22 for single trip or $33 for return trip?

cuz i%26#39;m thinking of taking bus 15 down..

Hi, if you are planning to take bus #15 down, then you pay HKD22 for the single peak tram ride with your Octopus card, and you can use your Octopus card on bus #15.
